We are seeking an experienced Construction Supervisor with a strong hands-on background in electrical installation, fiber optics, construction/hookup, and pre-commissioning activities. The successful candidate will supervise and coordinate construction and hookup works, ensuring that installations are completed safely, accurately, and in accordance with technical and project requirements.

The ideal candidate should have practical experience as an Electrician, Fiber Optic Technician, or similar installation professional, with strong knowledge of cable installation, testing, earthing, junction box wiring, work permits, and pre-commissioning activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate construction, hookup, and pre-commissioning activities.
  • Perform and oversee single and double compression cable glanding.
  • Supervise and verify earthing/grounding installations.
  • Carry out and supervise junction box wiring.
  • Ensure proper cable dressing, routing, tagging, and labeling.
  • Conduct and oversee cable testing, including:
    • Power cables
    • Multipair cables
    • CAT6
    • Coaxial cables
  • Manage and ensure compliance with work permit requirements.
  • Prepare and review Job Cards and Job Safety Analyses (JSA).
  • Conduct pre-commissioning verification and ensure all installation requirements are met before commissioning.
  • Follow up on construction/hookup activities and ensure timely completion.
  • Coordinate with engineering, commissioning, HSE, and project teams to resolve technical and site issues.
  • Monitor workmanship and ensure installations meet approved drawings, specifications, and safety standards.
  • Identify construction deficiencies and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
  • Maintain accurate records of completed works, testing, inspections, and site activities.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable safety procedures, project standards, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

Knowledge and Experience

  • Diploma/Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Telecommunications, Instrumentation, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience in electrical installation, fiber optic works, construction/hookup, or a related technical environment.
  • Strong practical background as an Electrician, Fiber Optic Technician, Electrical Technician, or similar installation professional.
  • Must have completed EWURA licensing or ERB registration as applicable.
  • Demonstrated experience in:
    • Cable glanding
    • Earthing/grounding
    • Junction box wiring
    • Cable dressing and labeling
    • Cable testing
    • Work permit management
    • Job Cards and JSA
    • Pre-commissioning activities
    • Construction/hookup supervision
  • Strong hands-on technical skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of electrical installation and construction practices.
  • Strong understanding of HSE requirements and safe work practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and installation documentation.
  • Strong supervisory and team coordination skills.
  • Good problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality consciousness.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.
  • Good communication and reporting skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with contractors, technicians, engineers, and project management teams.
