Isamilo International School is seeking an enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and committed Computer Science Teacher to join its Secondary School team.

The Role

The successful candidate will deliver engaging and high-quality Computer Science lessons across Key Stage 3, Cambridge IGCSE, and, where appropriate, Cambridge International AS & A Level.

The teacher will inspire students to develop computational thinking, programming skills, digital literacy, and problem-solving abilities while preparing them for outstanding academic achievement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Computer Science lessons in line with the Cambridge curriculum.
  • Teach Computer Science across Key Stage 3, IGCSE, and AS & A Level as required.
  • Assess, monitor, and report on student progress using a variety of assessment strategies.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment.
  • Integrate modern educational technology into teaching and learning.
  • Participate fully in school life, including extracurricular activities, meetings, school events, and professional development.
  • Uphold the school’s safeguarding, child protection, and health and safety policies.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and the wider school community to support student success.

Person Specification

Essential Qualifications and Experience

  • A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Education (Computer Science), or a related field.
  • A recognised teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching the Cambridge International Curriculum, particularly IGCSE Computer Science.
  • Excellent subject knowledge and effective classroom management skills.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

  • A master’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience teaching Cambridge International AS & A Level Computer Science.
  • Experience with programming languages such as Python, Java, or JavaScript.
  • Experience in robotics, coding clubs, or STEM enrichment programmes.
