Purpose of the Role:
To deliver high-quality, engaging, and practical instruction in Computer Science, ICT, and digital literacy to secondary school students, preparing them for further education, careers, and responsible digital citizenship.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons in line with the Tanzanian national curriculum (NECTA) for Computer Studies/ICT.
- Teach topics including:
- Computer fundamentals and hardware
- Programming (e.g., Python, Scratch, BASIC)
- Software applications (Word Processing, Spreadsheets, Databases, Presentations)
- Internet safety, ethics, and digital citizenship
- Networking basics and web design fundamentals
- Manage and maintain the school’s computer lab, ensuring equipment is functional, secure, and used effectively.
- Develop practical projects and assignments to enhance students' problem-solving and computational thinking skills.
- Prepare students for practical and theory examinations (CSEE, ACSEE).
- Organize and supervise extracurricular clubs (e.g., Coding Club, ICT Club, Robotics).
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and pedagogical methods in ICT education.
- Maintain records of student progress, assessments, and lab inventory.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or Education with a ICT major.
- Must be registered with the Tanzania Teachers Service Commission (TTSC).
- Proven experience teaching Computer Studies/ICT at the O-Level and/or A-Level.
- Strong practical skills in hardware troubleshooting and common software applications.
- Knowledge of programming languages relevant to the syllabus.
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
- Passion for technology and inspiring young learners.
