Job Summary:

To support the Medical Officer in providing high-quality clinical care. The Clinical Officer will manage outpatient departments (OPD) and support inpatient care, focusing on diagnosis, treatment, and referral of patients.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide primary clinical care in the Outpatient Department (consultation, diagnosis, treatment).
  • Perform physical examinations and history taking for all patients.
  • Administer first aid and emergency care to stabilize patients before referral.
  • Prescribe medication and manage patient treatment plans.
  • Assist Medical Officers during surgical procedures and ward rounds.
  • Monitor and evaluate patient progress, reporting critical changes to the Medical Officer.
  • Ensure the proper maintenance of patient files and clinical notes.
  • Participate in health talks and community outreach programs.
  • Ensure strict adherence to infection control and safety protocols.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Education: Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Surgery.
  • Registration: Enrolled with the relevant Clinical Officers Council.
  • Experience: At least 1 year of clinical experience (internship completed).
  • Skills: Diagnostic skills, patient handling, and teamwork.

Work Location

Nyuma ya Chuo cha Kiislamu (MUM), Morogoro, Tanzania.
