Job Purpose:

The role holder will be responsible for offering support to the Direct and Alternative Channel Manager for the consistent growth of sales in the Channel. The role will report to the Sales Manager of Direct and Alternative Channel.

Key responsibilities

  • Ensure and oversee the renewal process to make sure that channel attains 90% renewal rate.
  • Supervise the and oversee the licensing application process for all sales force executives Financial and Independent Financial advisors
  • In liaison with the manager Coordinate all training/induction of new agents.
  • Oversee and supervise the preparation and timely delivery of Bids for Agents
  • Prepare presentations and support sales force executives with presentations to clients.
  • Coordinate and ensure that there is a good working relationships with the operations departments i.e. underwriting and claims for efficient service delivery to agents, sales force executives and clients
  • Effectively engage in the data analysis process for the channel and advise the manager on the effective use of data to grow the channel
  • To follow-up and liaise with the unit managers about the performance of the various Agents and in consultation with manager take appropriate action grow production of those agents.
  • In consultation with other managers and line manager develop Strategies to grow new business and track it for agents and SFEs.
  • In liaison with the managers and relationship officers follow-up on all outstanding premiums through IPF, bank Credits and cancelled business.
  • In consultation with the Manager to prepare accurate channel reports for the various meeting business strategy meetings on the performance of the channel and the individual agents
  • Prepare competitive quotes for both new and renewal business to various agents and other friendly partners.
  • Ensure policies and endorsements are issued in a timely manner for the clients.
  • Support the Manager in the recruitment of new, reliable and strategic agents, SFEs and partners.
  • Follow up and verify all requisitions in ERP and Image Now for all expenses incurred and to be incurred for the channel in time for approval.
  • Maintain and support the manager in ensuring good relations between the organisation, the client and Agents through providing a good customer experience
  • Endeavour to act in the best interest of the business through conducting yourself fairly and just to Agents and clients
  • Follow up to ensure agents and SFEs are paid commissions timely and accurately
  • Delegated Authority: As per the approved Delegated Authority Matrix
  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time
  • Deliver on performance requirements as defined in the departments’ strategy map, balance scorecard and personal scorecard.

Knowledge, experience and qualifications required

1. Bachelor degree in business related field (Insurance options preferred)

2. Professional qualification in Insurance (CII certificate or equivalent qualification)

3. 2-4 years’ experience in sales (insurance sector preferred)

4. Knowledge in insurance industry and concepts

5. A demonstrated track record in managing relationships with banks to ensure sustained business support.
