Background

Perseus Mining (Tanzania) Limited (SMLC) is seeking a Business Analyst.

The Business Analyst – Supply Chain is responsible for analysing supply chain data, processes, and business requirements to improve operational efficiency, inventory performance, procurement, logistics, and overall supply chain decision-making. The role works closely with Procurement, Warehousing, Logistics, contract, Finance, and other departments to identify improvement opportunities and provide accurate, data-driven insights to management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze supply chain performance, including procurement, inventory, warehousing, logistics, and order fulfillment.
  • Prepare regular reports and dashboards covering key supply chain KPIs.
  • Analyze purchasing data, supplier performance, lead times, pricing, and purchase order trends.
  • Support demand planning and forecasting by analyzing historical demand, consumption, and inventory data.
  • Identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, cost drivers, and opportunities for process improvement.
  • Map existing supply chain processes and recommend improvements.
  • Validate data accuracy, Compliancy and ensure consistency between ERP systems, TMC reports, and operational records.
  • Track supplier performance using metrics such as delivery reliability, lead time, quality, pricing, and order fulfillment.
  • Support procurement and logistics teams with data required for negotiations, budgeting, and planning.
  • Conduct root-cause analysis of supply chain issues and recommend corrective actions.
  • Prepare management presentations and communicate analytical findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation of processes, reports, data definitions, and business requirements.
  • Ensure supply chain activities and reporting comply with company policies and procedures.

Skills, Knowledge, Abilities and Attributes:

  • Data analysis: Ability to collect, clean, analyse, and interpret data to identify trends, issues, and opportunities.
  • Advanced Excel: Proficiency in PivotTables, XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH and data modelling.
  • Business intelligence: Ability to develop dashboards and reports using tools such as Power BI.
  • ERP systems: Knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP ERP, Oracle ERP, or Pronto Xi.
  • Supply chain analysis: Ability to analyze procurement, inventory, warehousing and logistics.
  • Process mapping: Ability to document existing processes and identify inefficiencies and improvement opportunities.
  • Problem-solving: Ability to investigate problems, perform root-cause analysis, and develop practical solutions.
  • Requirements gathering: Ability to understand business needs and translate them into clear system or process requirements.
  • Reporting and presentation: Ability to communicate complex analytical findings through clear reports, dashboards, and presentations.
  • Ability to develop accurate forecasts, reports, and performance dashboards.
  • A personal with high integrity and accountability

Qualifications & Licences:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Economics, Finance, Information Systems, Statistics, or a related field.

  • 2–5 years of experience in business analysis, supply chain, procurement, logistics, inventory management, or a related role.
  • Ability to translate business problems into data-driven recommendations.
