Responsibilities or duties
- Supervise daily cleaning of student hostels (common areas) and restrooms.
- Supervise outdoor cleaning.
- Carry out minor repairs, including replacement of light bulbs, door locks and other minor works.
- Conduct periodic inspection of utilities, including at the start and end of academic sessions.
- Prepare reports on events concerning student hostels and residents.
- Promote health and safety in and around the hostels.
- Ensure maintenance and supply of equipment and cleaning materials.
- Assist in keeping and maintaining proper residence records.
- Assist in ensuring security in and around student hostels and residences.
- Assist in enforcing students' rules and regulations.
- Perform any other related duties as may be assigned by the reporting officer
Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)
- Holder of a National Form IV/VI Certificate with passes in English and Kiswahili plus Basic Certificate in Home Economics, Electrical, Masonry or Plumbing from VETA or any other recognized institution.
- Good computer skills.
- Personal organisation and planning skills.
- Ability to follow safety rules.
- Report-writing skills.
