Position 2: Assistant Fleet Manager

(Focus: Day-to-day fleet operations, maintenance coordination, driver supervision, and real-time problem-solving)

• Coordinate daily vehicle assignments, route scheduling, and driver allocations to ensure timely and efficient deliveries across Africa.
• Schedule and supervise routine vehicle maintenance, inspections, and unscheduled repairs, ensuring all vehicles are roadworthy and minimize downtime.
• Manage and monitor driver behavior, including hours of service, fatigue management, adherence to routes, and compliance with safety protocols.
• Monitor daily fuel consumption, investigate fuel efficiencies, and address any irregularities or misuse through fuel card tracking and reconciliation.
• Serve as the first responder to roadside incidents, breakdowns, or accidents, coordinating recovery, repairs, and documentation for insurance claims.
• Oversee the inventory of spare parts, tires, and consumables, ensuring adequate stock levels are maintained for emergency repairs.
• Conduct regular physical fleet inspections, prepare maintenance logs, and report vehicle status, repair costs, and operational challenges to the Fleet Manager.
