Taasisi ya Jiolojia na Utafiti wa Madini Tanzania (GST) is seeking to fill 4 positions for Artisan II (Mineral Laboratory).
Responsibilities or duties
- To assist in the preparation of reagents and apparatus for analytical works.
- To assist in the reception of samples from geology department (Internal samples), small scale miners, mining and exploration companies and from other stakeholders.
- To assist in conducting fire assay, base metals, major and trace elements analysis and water analysis.
- To assist in preparing samples for chemical analysis.
- To assist in preparing samples for petrography, mineral processing and mineralogical studies.
- To assist in the preparation of samples for gemological investigations.
- To assist in preparing petrography and mineralogical laboratory reagents.
- To assist in preparing sample for petrography, geotechnical and mineralogical studies.
- Performing any other official duties assigned by his immediate Supervisor.
Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)
- Holder of form IV/VI certificate with Trade Test Grade II or Level II in one of the following fields; Geoinformatics, Mineral Processing, Geology, or mining from VETA, MUST, MRI, DIT or any other recognized institution by the government.
