Position: Algae and Live Feed Specialists (1 Position) Duty Station: Pemba, Zanzibar Reports to: General Manager Contract Type: Full time
Role Purpose
The Algae and Live Feed Specialists will be responsible for developing, managing, and maintaining live feed and algae production systems to support hatchery and nursery operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and manage algae and live feed production systems
- Maintain culture quality, density, and contamination control
- Support hatchery feeding protocols and schedules
- Monitor water quality and culture performance
- Train technicians and interns on live feed systems
- Maintain production records and technical documentation
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree or diploma in Aquaculture, Marine Biology, Biotechnology, or related field
- Demonstrated experience in algae and live feed culture
- Strong understanding of hatchery systems and water quality management
- Ability to work independently and as part of a technical team
