Smart Africa Group (SAG) is a Pan-African partner in innovation, marketing, and technology. The Group works with corporates, public institutions, startups and development partners to grow brands, build digital products and support innovation across Africa.
Responsibilities or duties
The Board invites applications from qualified professionals to join the Advisory Board in the following categories:
- Private Sector: Background in business growth, market development, digital transformation or industry expansion
- Public Sector: Understanding of national and regional priorities, regulatory frameworks, digital frameworks, funding models or sector policies
- NGO & Development Sector: Exposure to programme design, impact measurement, Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG), Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) or sustainability practices
- Startup and Investors: Experience in scaling organisations, products or initiatives, including fundraising, deal structuring or partnership development. Must be passionate about startup ecosystem building SME & Youth Skills in Technology and the Creative Economy
Qualifications or requirementsÂ
Minimum Requirements
- Must have a minimum of 3-Countries Business experience in either Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, South Africa, or any sub-Saharan country
- At least 10 years of senior experience in leadership, policy, industry development, programme management, venture building or organisational strategy
- Experience as decision-makers, regulators, investors, development partners or founders
- Exposure to working with senior decision-makers, regulators, investors, development partners or founders
- Experience with programme design, impact measurement, Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG), Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) or sustainability practices
- Strong networks in Tanzania or across Africa that support partnerships and investment opportunities
- Strong track record in advisory, mentorship, governance, or strategy roles
- Deep understanding of trends in technology, digital platforms, innovation ecosystems or sector-specific developments
Experience needed
At least 10 years of senior experience in leadership, policy, industry development, programme management, venture building or organisational strategy.
