Position Overview

The GIZ programme Employment Promotion for Women for the Green Transformation in Africa (WE4D) is seeking a qualified Advisor – TVET Mining Sector & Communication to support the development of green jobs and sustainable employment opportunities, with a particular focus on the mining sector and critical raw materials in Tanzania.

Key Responsibilities

1. Advisory Services & Capacity Building

  • Advise Tanzanian private sector partners on circular economy approaches and green transformation strategies.
  • Lead capacity development initiatives in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) for green jobs, particularly within the mining and critical raw materials sectors.

2. Communication & Public Relations

  • Design, coordinate, and implement the programme’s communication and public relations strategy.
  • Enhance programme visibility and impact through effective storytelling, media engagement, and social media management.

3. Project Management & Coordination

  • Support the technical, administrative, and financial implementation of programme activities.
  • Act as a liaison between GIZ, Tanzanian partners, service providers, and contractors.

4. Monitoring, Reporting & Compliance

  • Oversee monitoring and reporting processes, including data management and documentation.
  • Ensure all activities comply with GIZ standards, procedures, and quality assurance requirements.

Required Qualifications & Experience

Education

University degree in Economics, Engineering, or Social Sciences or a related field.

Professional Experience

  • At least 3 years of experience in project management.
  • At least 3 years of experience in communication and public relations, including social media strategy and implementation.
  • At least 3 years of experience working with public institutions and TVET organizations in Tanzania.

Technical & Professional Skills

  • Proven experience in business development, job creation, and employment promotion.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and coordination skills in complex, multi-actor environments.
  • High level of digital literacy and proficiency in modern communication and office tools.

Language Requirements

Fluency in English and Swahili, with excellent written and verbal communication skills in both languages.
