On behalf of our client, a pine processing and exporting company located in Mafinga, we are looking for an analytical and detail-oriented Accounting Officer to join their team.
Responsibilities or duties,
Bookkeeping and financial recording
- Record all financial transactions accurately and promptly.
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure all entries are properly classified, coded, and supported by appropriate documentation.
- Reconcile bank statements, petty cash, and supplier accounts regularly, identifying and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.
Accounts Payable and Receivable
- Process supplier invoices, verify accuracy, and prepare payments for approval.
- Monitor accounts receivable, follow up on outstanding client balances, and report ageing receivables accordingly.
- Maintain accurate records of all customer invoices, receipts, and outstanding balances.
Financial reporting and analysis
- Ensure proper documentation and filing of financial records
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
- Ensure reports comply with accounting standards and company policies
- Assist with month-end processes, reconciliations and financial reporting
- Review accounting information for accuracy and assist in resolving discrepancies
- Respond to accounting-related inquiries from vendors, customers and internal team members
Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills),
Requirements:
- Must have a Degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Professional accounting qualification (CPA/ACCA) is an added advantage.
- Proficiency in accounting software, Excel, and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
Experience needed,
- At least 1- 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Experience in the manufacturing and exportation industry is highly desirable.
