Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate general ledger accounts, preparing comprehensive financial statements—including balance sheets and profit & loss reports—and overseeing accounts payable and receivable processes. You will support the month-end and year-end closing activities, assist in internal and external audits, and ensure that all financial transactions are recorded in compliance with GAAP/IFRS standards. This role also requires familiarity with Tanzanian tax regulations, statutory payments, and financial filing requirements to ensure full compliance with local laws.

The Accountant will work closely with senior finance personnel to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities. Proficiency in accounting software such as SAP, QuickBooks, or other ERP platforms is essential, as the role requires handling large volumes of financial data with precision. Strong data management, reconciliation skills, and the ability to communicate financial information clearly to stakeholders will be key to succeeding in this position.
