Description:
Subgrade Engineers will oversee the construction of the railway subgrade, ensuring compliance with Tanzanian and AREMA standards. Responsibilities include supervising construction quality, managing schedules, and optimizing resource allocation. This role is ideal for engineers with experience in railway subgrade construction and a focus on quality control.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review drawings and formulate construction plans for subgrade works.
- Supervise construction quality (e.g., soft subgrade, embankment filling, drainage).
- Participate in engineering measurement, cost control, and schedule management.
- Guide on-site operations to ensure compliance with design requirements.
- Optimize resource allocation for efficient project delivery.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Civil Engineering, Road and Bridge Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or related fields.
- Technical Competencies:
- Familiarity with Tanzanian and AREMA standards.
- Proficiency in CAD, Project, and other office software.
- Ability to manage quality control and technical aspects of subgrade construction.
- Work Experience: Minimum 3 years of subgrade construction experience, preferably in railway projects.
- Certifications: Preference for candidates with Senior Engineer titles or relevant professional qualifications.
- Language Skills: Fluency in English (written and spoken); proficiency in Chinese or Swahili preferred.
- Additional Requirements:
- Strong cross-departmental coordination skills.
- Willingness to work in field environments with challenging conditions.
- Knowledge of Tanzanian labor laws and engineering safety regulations.
- Mandatory participation in safety training.
- Age and Health: 25–45 years old, in good health with no major medical conditions.
