Role Summary

The client is seeking an experienced tax professional to join their dynamic team. This is an opportunity for a motivated individual who excels in navigating complex tax regulations and values accuracy and integrity. The role focuses on delivering excellent client service and advancing a career in tax.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

The Tax Associate will be responsible for:

  • Preparing and reviewing corporate, individual, and indirect tax returns in compliance with local tax laws and regulations.
  • Conducting detailed tax research and providing advisory services on complex tax issues.
  • Assisting clients with tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities while ensuring full compliance.
  • Supporting tax audits and liaising with regulatory authorities on behalf of clients.
  • Monitoring changes in tax legislation and communicating implications to clients and internal teams.
  • Collaborating with audit and advisory teams to provide integrated financial solutions.
  • Maintaining accurate and organized client records and documentation.
  • Preparing management reports and presentations as required.
  • Mentoring junior staff and assisting in professional development initiatives within the team.

Skills & Requirements

Candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Tax, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Certification: Professional certification such as CPA(T) or equivalent.
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years and above of proven experience in a Tax and Auditing firm.
  • Knowledge:
    • Strong technical knowledge of corporate, personal, and indirect taxation in Tanzania.
    • Well-versed with Tanzanian tax laws, regulations, and international tax standards.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in tax software (e.g., TIN, tax filing platforms) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent analytical, problem-solving, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills, with professional client engagement.
