OBJECTIVE OF THE ROLE

The primary role is to produce risk mitigated mine designs and schedules for the underground mine to meet budget physicals in a manner consistent with the Company’s Vision and Values.

ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Lead the development of short-, medium-, and long-term underground mine plans.
• Drive alignment between mine planning, geology, survey, and operations teams.
• Optimize production schedules, stope sequencing, and development strategies.
• Ensure plans meet safety, production, and cost targets.
• Oversee and mentor a team of mine planning engineers and technicians.
• Monitor planned vs actual performance and drive corrective actions.
• Contribute to strategic mine planning and life-of-mine optimization.
• Champion continuous improvement initiatives across planning processes.
• Optimizing production performance, sequencing, and resource utilization.
• Leading and developing a multidisciplinary planning team.
• Influencing key stakeholders across operations, geology, and technical services.
• Delivering measurable improvements in efficiency, cost, and safety performance.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

Education & Qualification

• Degree in Mining Engineering
• Professional Registration with ERB

Experience, Knowledge and Skills

• significant experience in underground mine planning.
• Proven leadership experience managing technical teams.
• Strong background in production planning, scheduling, and mine design.
• Experience using mine planning software such as Deswik, Datamine Studio, or similar.
• Strong strategic thinking and decision-making ability.
• Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
• High level of accountability and ownership
• Deep commitment to safety and operational excellence
