Purpose of the role

Tabono on behalf of our client is looking for a proactive and dynamic Sales Associate who, within the framework of the defined internal procedures and the commercial objectives set, welcomes and guides customers. She/he seeks to know customers’ needs, advises them and sells products through exemplary customer service in order to develop turnover. She/he ensures the collection of sales. He participates in the running of the store and stock taking.

Kilimanjaro International Airport (KIA), International Departure Lounge.

Key responsibilities

The Sales Associate will be in charge of:

• Inviting customers to come in the shop, welcomes and guides them according to their needs
• Advising the customer with in-depth knowledge of the products
• Selling the products to the customer and develop additional sales
• Carrying out the collection of the items according to the defined procedure
• Counting his/her cash, filling out the internal cash register slips and depositing the receipts in the safe according to the defined procedure
• Participating in the arrangement of products in the shelves (in accordance with the rules of merchandising) and maintaining the cleanliness of products in the store
• Participating in the implementation of commercial campaigns and change of promotions
• Verifying the labelling of the products
• Participating in stock taking activities
• Controlling the physical deliveries, the correct placement of products on the shelves, performing the necessary reporting to the assistant manager
• Reporting any suspicious incidents observed from customers, colleagues, other staff.

Profile

• Ability to use initiative
• Strong interpersonal skills, excellent communication skills and positive attitude
• Good understanding of sales and customer service
• Previous retail experience, at least 1 year
• Fluency in Swahili and English languages
• Previous cash handling experience
