Job Summary
Ifakara Health Institute through CARECHAIN - NCD is looking a qualified and competent Research Officer. The Research Officer is expected to collaborate within the existing clinical research platform of Heart and Lung Clinic, CDCI, Emergency department, and IMC-SFRH in the implementation of the Sub - heart study activities. This position is open for internal applicants , if you meet the required criterial you are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
- Screening of eligible patients to be recruited in the Sub heart study at the heart and lung clinic of St. Francis regional referral hospital.
- Participate in consenting procedure of patients to be recruited in Sub heart study.
- Participate in quantitative and qualitative data collection.
- Perform transcription of the audio - recorded data.
- Be ready to work on any other relevant duties allocated by the project principal investigator/ project leader.
Desired Skills
- Interest in doing both clinical and research work.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative management style.
- Capable of building and sustaining relationships with colleagues
- Result oriented
- Professional attitude to work and clear work ethics
Essential Qualifications
Minimum of Diploma in clinical medicine with experience in quantitative data collection.
Competent and certified on good clinical practice (GCP).
Required Experience
Minimum 1-year experience in attending and managing patients with Non communicable disease.
Desired Language
Fluent in both Swahili and English
