Job Summary:
The Procurement Officer is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing the supply of goods and services required for company operations while ensuring cost-effectiveness, quality, and timely delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Procurement Process Management:
- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers/vendors based on price, quality, and reliability.
- Prepare and process purchase orders, requests for quotations (RFQs), and tenders.
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers to achieve cost savings.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and legal regulations.
Supplier & Inventory Management:
- Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and resolve any supply issues.
- Monitor supplier performance and conduct regular reviews.
- Track inventory levels and coordinate with departments to forecast demand.
Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain accurate procurement records (purchase orders, invoices, contracts).
- Prepare procurement reports on costs, savings, and supplier performance.
- Assist in budget planning and expenditure tracking.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Business, or related field.
- Experience: 3+ years in procurement or supply chain management.
- Certifications: CIPS or similar procurement certification (a plus).
- Skills:
- Strong negotiation and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in procurement software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and MS Excel.
- Knowledge of local/international procurement regulations.
- Attributes:
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
