Position Overview
The Poultry Expert will play a dual role in both sales and support extension services. This individual will be responsible for promoting and selling our poultry feed products while also providing comprehensive support and advice to farmers on best practices in poultry husbandry and commercial farming.
Key Responsibilities
- Sales and Marketing:
- Promote and sell poultry feed products to farmers, cooperatives, and other stakeholders in the poultry industry.
- Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve sales targets.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential customers.
- Conduct market research to identify new business opportunities and stay updated on industry trends.
- Support and Extension Services:
- Provide expert advice and support to farmers on poultry husbandry, including feeding, breeding, health management, and biosecurity measures.
- Conduct on-site visits to farms to assess conditions, identify issues, and recommend solutions.
- Organize and conduct training sessions, workshops, and seminars for farmers to educate them on best practices and new developments in the industry.
- Assist farmers in implementing sustainable and profitable farming practices.
- Technical Expertise:
- Stay current with advancements in poultry science and best practices in commercial poultry farming.
- Collaborate with the R&D team to provide feedback on product performance and suggest improvements.
- Prepare and distribute educational materials, such as manuals, guides, and newsletters, to support farmers.
- Customer Service:
- Address customer inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by providing timely and effective support.
- Maintain detailed records of customer interactions and farm visits.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science, Poultry Science, Veterinary Science, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
- Proven experience in poultry farming, husbandry, or a related field, with a strong understanding of commercial poultry farming practices.
- Experience in the sale of poultry products and customer service
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to travel frequently to visit farms and attend industry events.
