Key Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Teaching and Instruction:
- Prepare and deliver engaging lectures, tutorials, seminars, and practical demonstrations in your field of specialization.
- Develop and update curriculum, course outlines, lesson plans, and teaching materials to meet academic standards.
- Utilize a variety of teaching methodologies to cater to diverse learning styles.
2. Student Assessment and Evaluation:
- Design, administer, and grade examinations, assignments, quizzes, and practical assessments.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback to students on their academic progress.
- Maintain accurate and complete records of student performance and attendance.
3. Student Mentorship and Support:
- Act as an academic advisor and mentor to students, providing guidance on academic and career matters.
- Supervise student research projects, dissertations, and clinical placements where applicable.
- Identify and support students who are experiencing academic difficulties.
4. Academic Development:
- Participate in departmental meetings, curriculum review committees, and academic planning.
- Stay current with developments in the field by engaging in continuous professional development (CPD) and research activities.
- Contribute to the institution's quality assurance and enhancement processes.
Qualifications and Experience:
For Pharmacy Tutor:
- A Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) degree is mandatory. A Master's degree (M.Pharm) in a relevant field will be a distinct advantage.
- Must be a registered and licensed Pharmacist with the [Relevant National Council, e.g., Uganda National Pharmacy Council].
- At least 2-3 years of experience in clinical practice and/or previous teaching experience in an academic institution.
