The Network and Datacenter Specialist role is responsible for the timely delivery, support, administration, and implementation of the Bank’s enterprise Network and Data Center infrastructure as part of the Bank’s technology and digital transformation strategy.
The candidate, through effective communication with stakeholders and the ability to support and direct initiatives towards successful delivery of business goals will work closely with business and technology teams to support key strategic priorities which include but are not limited to
- Support all Existing and Future Projects for all infrastructure environments (Production, Disaster Recovery, UAT & SIT) Network and Data Center Infrastructure requirements (LAN, WAN, WLAN, SD-WAN, Firewalls, Load Balancers, and Data Center Fabric)
- Core Network and Data Center Infrastructure readiness, upgrades, and optimization
- Support and administration of Network Security infrastructure including Firewalls, VPN, Proxy, Network Access Controls (NAC), WAF and DDOS Appliances
- Data Center Infrastructure support including Compute, Storage, Virtualization, and Network connectivity
- Network and Data Center infrastructure migrations, upgrades, validations, and optimization projects
- Support Technology transformation through infrastructure modernization, automation, and capacity building
- Support Business Products, Audit remediation, Risk mitigation, and infrastructure compliance requirements
- BAU support includes incident resolution, patching, performance tuning, and infrastructure maintenance
Responsibilities
- Work closely with Technology Application Support, Business, and Management teams in the daily execution of BAU and strategic Network and Data Center support activities to ensure enhanced service delivery.
- Support scoped Projects and engagements to ensure timely and seamless delivery aligned with Business value and Bank strategic objectives.
- Support ongoing Network and Data Center transformation initiatives to enhance resilience, scalability, and performance.
- Provide progressive Weekly and Monthly reports on Network and Data Center performance, capacity utilization, risks, and recommendations for improvement.
- Ensure high availability, stability, and optimal performance of LAN, WAN, WLAN, Internet, and Data Center infrastructure.
- Support Core Banking and critical systems infrastructure to ensure maximum uptime and optimal performance.
- Install, configure, and maintain Network devices including Switches, Routers, Firewalls, WAF, DDOS Appliance, Wireless Controllers, Load Balancers, and VPN solutions.
- Support Data Center infrastructure including structured cabling, racks, power, cooling, and connectivity to ensure optimal operational conditions.
- Manage and maintain network monitoring tools and proactively identify and resolve infrastructure issues.
- Perform infrastructure capacity planning, forecasting, and upgrades to support Business growth and requirements.
- Create and maintain Network and Data Center documentation including diagrams, configurations, and procedures.
- Implement and maintain Network Security controls in line with Bank Security policies and standards.
- Support Disaster Recovery planning and execution including DR drills, failover testing, and resilience validation.
- Support patch management, firmware upgrades, and infrastructure lifecycle management.
- Manage vendors, service providers, and third-party infrastructure partners to ensure service delivery compliance.
- Provide technical troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and resolution of Network and Data Center incidents.
- Ensure compliance with IT Governance, Risk, Audit, and Security standards.
- Support infrastructure automation and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Work as part of a team and provide 24×7 support when required.
Qualifications and Experience
BSc in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field
Professional certifications such as:
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or equivalent
- Huawei Certified Network Professional (HCNP) – Advantageous
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
- Fortinet NSE, Palo Alto, or equivalent Network Security certification
Data Center certifications (advantageous)
Proven experience supporting enterprise Network and Data Center infrastructure with high availability (99.9% or higher)
Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with:
- LAN, WAN, WLAN, TCP/IP, Routing, Switching
- Firewalls, VPN, Network Security
- Data Center technologies and architecture
- Network Monitoring tools
- SD-WAN Implementation
- Virtualization and Cloud networking
Knowledge of Core Banking infrastructure support (advantageous)
Good understanding of ITIL processes and service management
Strong customer relationship and stakeholder management skills
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Ability to take ownership, drive issues to closure, and deliver results
Experience in financial services preferred
Minimum of 4 years’ experience in Enterprise Network and Data Center Infrastructure role
