Comprehensive Community Based Rehabilitation in Tanzania (CCBRT) is seeking a dynamic and qualified Laboratory Technologist/Scientist (Health Volunteer) to support and strengthen its Laboratory Department.
This position is offered under CCBRT health volunteer terms and conditions.

Key Responsibilities

As a Laboratory Technologist/Scientist, you will be responsible for:

  • Performing all routine medical laboratory tests.
  • Maintaining the laboratory and Blood Bank’s quality management system.
  • Collecting patient samples promptly, labeling them correctly, and forwarding them for processing.
  • Preparing reagents for routine laboratory examinations.
  • Ensuring proper custody of all samples and maintaining accurate records of all investigations conducted.
  • Reviewing and approving laboratory results before they are released.
  • Implementing Internal and External Quality Controls (IQC & EQC).
  • Supporting the implementation of the Laboratory Quality Management System, including adherence to preventive maintenance schedules for laboratory equipment.

Minimum Qualifications & Competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science with a one-year internship, or a Diploma in Medical Laboratory Science.
  • Fully registered with the Tanzania Health Laboratory Practitioners Council (THLPC).
  • Minimum one year post-internship experience.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Good communication skills in both English and Swahili.
  • Flexible, proactive, able to multitask, and eager to learn.
