Roles and Responsibilities

• Conduct nutritional assessments to evaluate patients' dietary habits, nutritional status and specific healthcare needs.
• Develop individualized nutrition care plans based on patients' medical conditions, nutritional requirements and health goals.
• Provide dietary counselling and nutrition education to pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, newborn caregivers and other patients.
• Develop appropriate meal plans to support maternal health, pregnancy, postpartum recovery and healthy infant development.
• Provide nutritional guidance to patients managing medical conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, obesity and malnutrition.
• Monitor patients' nutritional progress and evaluate the effectiveness of recommended dietary interventions.
• Educate patients and families on balanced diets, healthy eating habits, food safety and appropriate food preparation practices.
• Recommend appropriate nutritional interventions for patients with special dietary requirements or feeding difficulties.
• Collaborate with nurses, midwives, physicians and other healthcare professionals to integrate nutritional care into patients' treatment plans.
• Maintain accurate nutritional assessment records, patient progress reports and dietary care documentation.
• Provide nutrition support and guidance to individuals receiving home-based healthcare services.
