Job Summary
Ifakara Health Institute through Sacubitril Valsartan Study is looking a qualified and competent Clinical Officer. The Clinical Officer is expected to work within the existing clinical research platform of Heart and Lung Clinic, CDCI, Emergency department, and IMC-SFRH in the implementation of Sacubitril Valsartan study activities at Ifakara. This position is open for internal applicants, if you meet the desired criterial you are encouraged to apply this role.
Responsibilities
- Screening of eligible patients for the studies done at the heart and lung clinic, St. Francis regional referral hospital.
- Attend and manage patients with chronic heart failure at the heart and lung clinic
- Participate in quantitative data collection
- Tracking of patients who do not come for their follow up visit in collaboration with the community health workers
- Follow up of lab and radiological investigation findings for the study participants and record them in the electronic system
- Be ready to work on any other relevant duties allocated by the project principal investigator/ project leader

- Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative management style.
- Capable of building and sustaining relationships with colleagues.

- Professional attitude to work and clear work ethics.
Essential Qualifications
Holder of Diploma in clinical medicine with experience in quantitative data collection.
Required Experience
Minimum 1-year experience in attending and managing critically ill patients or patients with Non-communicable diseases.
Competent and certified on good clinical practice (GCP).
Prefered Language
Fluent in both Swahili and English.
