Job Summary/Objective:

The Assistant Accountant will be responsible for supporting the accounting and finance department in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing monthly and quarterly reports, and assisting in day-to-day financial operations. Duties shall be performed in compliance with the company’s financial policies, accounting standards, and internal control procedures.

Responsibilities & duties:

  • Maintain accounting records such as registers, ledgers, journals and individual accounts
  • Accrue journals and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Organize source documents, files and other account affiliated information
  • Perform proper maintenance of all end-of-day to day records
  • Record daily financial transactions in the company’s accounting system or ledgers.
  • Maintain organized and up-to-date records of invoices, receipts, and payment vouchers.
  • By ensuring proper details are captured
  • Verify supporting documents before recording transactions to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Assist in the reconciliation of bank statements with company records on a monthly basis.
  • Post journal entries and ensure correct account coding under supervision of the Chief Accountant.
  • Process supplier invoices, check for accuracy, and prepare payment schedules.
  • Maintain a list of outstanding payables and ensure timely payments to vendors.
  • Record and track customer invoices, monitor collections, and follow up on overdue accounts.
  • Assist in preparing customer statements and payment reminders.
  • Reconcile accounts payable and receivable balances regularly
  • Any other duties assigned by supervisor

Skills/Attributes required:

  • Strong understanding of accounting systems ERP and processes
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
  • Proactive, highly motivated and flexible
  • Highly organized and attention to detail
  • Time and schedule sensitive
  • Experienced with MS Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook

Qualifications/Experience required:

  • With diploma preferably, Accountancy or Finance
  • 1–2-year(s) experience in Accounting or Bookkeeping (preferred).
