Position Description
North Mara Gold Mine Limited is seeking to recruit Graduate Electrical Engineer to join and grow their team. You will be expected to align to the Barrick DNA and to operate within our mining assets with our best people teams. You will contribute in a safe and cost-effective manner to achieve targets in accordance with Mine Safety Standards, Policies and Procedures and ensure daily targets are met.

About North Mara
The North Mara gold mine is located in north-west Tanzania in the Tarime district of the Mara region. It is around 100 kilometres east of Lake Victoria and 20 kilometres south of the Kenyan border.
North Mara started commercial production in 2002. The mine is a combined open pit and underground operation from two deposits, Gokona (underground) and Nyabirama (open pit).

Responsibilities
1. Ensure total compliance/adherence to all Safety, Occupational Health and Environmental Policies, as well as other policies, procedures and guidelines.
2. Maintaining, repairing mechanical issues, Diagnostics / Fault Finding and Routine inspection on a variety of machines both mobile and fixed.
3. To carry out preventative maintenance & repairs and provide accurate and timely feedback to the mechanical First Line Leader on conditions that may affect asset’s functionality.
4. To ensure that the first line leader and all stakeholders are kept informed on equipment availability status.
5. Work closely with planned maintenance department to do planning, root cause analysis, ordering and maintenance optimization to increase engineering availabilities.
6. Display a sense of urgency to ensure timely repair and maintenance of critical equipment’s.
7. Contribute to the Operations by ensuring that all maintenance activities are planned and completed in a cost effective manner with minimal disruption to ore mining activities.
8. Carry out tactical plan projects as designated within the maintenance section tactical plans.
9. Be involvement where requested at various sites meetings.
10. Identify and rectify/report specific hazards using Job Safety Analysis process.
11. Report Environmental incidents and non-compliances.

Qualification requirements
1. A relevant Electrical Engineering degree is required, together with current registration with Tanzania Engineering Registration Board as a Professional / Graduate Engineer.
2. At least completed university between 2021 to 2023 in Electrical or mechanical electrical maintenance engineering
3. Sound knowledge of CMMS, plant, equipment, Barrick standards, including engineering change management, and statutory requirements.
4. Good working knowledge of electrical and/or mechanical electrical maintenance engineering and condition monitoring techniques, including vibration analysis, hydraulic / lube / transformer oil analysis, thermographic analysis, electrical protective systems and electrical motor / generator windings’ maintenance and testing.

Experience and Competencies needed
1. Experienced in current maintenance practices and techniques.
2. Computer literacy – able to utilize computer programs effectively, including standard MS Office Suite: dBase, word processing, spread-sheeting and the site based CMMS (Pronto).
3. Capable of locating, reading and understanding technical documentation and manuals.
4. Competent understanding of safety, isolation and site permitting procedures in the workplace.
5. Driving ability
