Objective of the Role:
Develop, implement and manage a comprehensive preventative maintenance program that minimizes equipment downtime, optimizes operational efficiency, and ensures the longevity of equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a proactive preventative maintenance strategy to ensure minimal equipment downtime and optimized farm operations.
- Conduct technical analyses and generate reports on equipment performance, identifying areas for improvement and ensuring operational efficiency.
- Lead, train, and supervise the maintenance team, ensuring safety compliance and adherence to farm protocols.
- Manage inventory levels by ensuring there is adequate stocks of spare parts and coordinating timely reorders as needed.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and operational standards, guiding team members to follow all company and statutory requirements.
- Assist the technical manager on ensuring proper environment upkeep across the entire farm.
Qualification and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in equipment maintenance, with a focus on preventative and predictive maintenance strategies.
- Strong technical knowledge of farm equipment, irrigation, climate control systems, and mechanical infrastructure.
- Proven leadership experience with the ability to train, supervise, and motivate a maintenance team.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyse technical data, identify trends, and develop actionable insights.
- Knowledge of health, safety, and compliance regulations, with a strong commitment to maintaining safe work environments.
- Proficiency in generating and interpreting technical reports and ensuring alignment with company protocols and industry standards.
- Excellent computer skills and proficiency in working with multiple related software, including maintenance management systems and data analysis tools.
