Coca-Cola Kwanza Ltd has an exciting opportunity within the Supply Chain Department. We are seeking a talented and experienced professional to join our team as a Supply Planner, based in Dar es Salaam.

The successful candidate will report directly to the Country Lead Supply Chain Planning and will be responsible for developing and executing material supply plans to ensure the timely availability of raw materials and packaging materials in support of uninterrupted manufacturing operations.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Operational Forecast Management

  • Translate aligned demand forecasts and production plans into material supply plans and replenishment requirements to ensure uninterrupted manufacturing operations.
  • Assess the impact of promotions, new product launches, demand changes, and operational constraints on material requirements, adjusting supply plans to ensure production continuity.
  • Collaborate with the Demand Planning, Commercial, and Manufacturing teams to align material supply plans with approved business forecasts and production schedules.

Material & Packaging Availability

  • Develop and execute supply plans to ensure the timely availability of raw materials and packaging materials in line with production requirements and targeted service levels.
  • Monitor and optimize inventory levels in accordance with agreed inventory policies and weeks of cover, balancing material availability, working capital, and inventory costs.
  • Coordinate material balancing across manufacturing sites to optimize inventory utilization and mitigate supply risks.
  • Manage the assigned supplier portfolio, working closely with Procurement and suppliers to ensure timely material deliveries, resolve supply constraints, and improve supplier performance.

  • Develop and maintain rolling material supply plans aligned with approved demand forecasts, production plans, inventory strategies, and business objectives.
  • Monitor short-term material requirements through Material Requirements Planning (MRP), ensuring material availability and timely replenishment.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate material supply risks, implementing contingency plans to minimize production disruptions and maintain service levels.
  • Support peak demand and seasonal planning activities by ensuring sufficient material availability to meet anticipated production requirements.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Reporting

  • Collaborate with Procurement, Manufacturing, Warehousing, Logistics, Quality, Demand Planning, and Commercial teams to ensure effective execution of material supply plans.
  • Monitor and report on key planning performance indicators, including material availability, inventory performance, supplier performance, and supply risks, providing recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Communicate material constraints, supply risks, and planning recommendations effectively across all levels of the organization to support timely decision-making.

Systems & Data Management

  • Maintain accurate planning master data and planning parameters within ERP and planning systems to support effective Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and supply planning activities.
  • Analyze planning, inventory, and distribution data to identify trends, improve planning accuracy, optimize inventory, and support operational decision-making.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance supply planning processes, inventory optimization, supplier reliability, and overall supply chain performance.

Skills, Experience & Education

The incumbent should have at least a Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Procurement and Operations Management, Production Management, Logistics, or a related field. A Bachelor's degree will be an added advantage. The candidate should have a minimum of three (3) years' experience in Supply Chain Planning, Material Planning, Inventory Management, or a related field within an FMCG or manufacturing environment, with proven experience in managing raw materials and packaging materials.

  • The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic manufacturing environment.
  • Forecasting Abilities to predict future stock requirements and adjust plans accordingly
  • Analytical Skills to accurately determine stock requirements and assess inventory levels.

  • Problem-Solving Skills to address and prevent stock outs and potential shortages proactively.
  • Technical Proficiency to navigate and utilize MSD365 systems and Power BI for data management and reporting.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams and suppliers.
