The Supply Chain Superintendent is responsible for leading and managing all supply chain functions in support of Perseus Mining’s operations in Tanzania. This role oversees procurement, purchasing, logistics, and warehouse inventory management to ensure goods and services are delivered efficiently and cost-effectively in support of the Supply Chain Business Plan, ensuring operational requirements are met while upholding Perseus’ standards, values, and compliance obligations. The Supply Chain Superintendent establishes and manages supplier agreements, maintains effective controls and reporting systems, and builds strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers. The role ensures the team delivers services on time, within budget, and aligned with operational goals.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute strategic sourcing and procurement plans.
- Negotiate contracts and supply agreements to secure best value for money while meeting operational needs.
- Implement best practices in inventory management, including forecasting, stock rotation, and loss prevention.
- Manage operational budgets for procurement, logistics, and warehouse functions, delivering cost savings where possible.
- Leverage ERP systems (such as Pronto) to improve visibility, compliance, and operational efficiency.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Degree in Supply Chain Management or a related field (or equivalent tertiary qualification).
- Professional certifications in procurement or logistics management are an advantage.
