Overview

The Software Developer-RPA will collaborate with business operations and business analysts to create and optimize workflow processes. The role involves leading initiatives to design and manage workflow automation projects, testing, and resolving bugs. Success in this position requires experience with technologies such as UiPath and Automation Anywhere.

Key Accountabilities and Decision Ownership

  • Design, develop, and test automation workflows.
  • Review code and designs, providing expertise in system development and integration.
  • Collaborate with Business Analysts, Scrum Masters, QA Analysts, Product Owners, and other cross-functional team members to define and deliver impactful business projects.
  • Configure new automation using efficient and user-friendly automation tools.
  • Work with development team members to ensure proper implementation and integration of solutions.
  • Support deployments and troubleshoot production issues outside regular work hours, participating in an on-call rotation as needed.
  • Maintain and enhance knowledge of relevant technologies and business processes.
  • System Management: Proactively monitor system performance to ensure service availability exceeds 99.999% and master software demos.
  • System Security and Compliance: Ensure all charging infrastructure and applications are secure, aligning with policies, processes, and best practices. Perform assigned checklists and user reviews.
  • Self-Development: Stay current with technological advancements.

Core Competencies, Knowledge, and Experience

  • Proficient in agile and lean programming for software systems in web-scale environments.
  • Skilled in backlog item estimation.
  • Experienced in unit, integration, smoke, and static code analysis testing.
  • Hands-on experience with Robotic Process Automation (RPA) platforms such as UiPath, Automation Anywhere, or Blue Prism.
  • Knowledgeable in software incident and problem management.
  • Expertise in multiple programming and markup languages, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Java, Ruby, SQL, XML, JSON, YAML, C, Go, and Python, across paradigms like object-oriented, event-driven, procedural, functional, and declarative programming.
  • Proficient with databases such as MariaDB, MySQL, and MongoDB.
  • Strong understanding of operating systems, particularly Linux.
  • Experienced in continuous integration and continuous delivery methodologies and tools.
  • Familiar with DevOps culture, processes, and tools.
  • Knowledge of cloud-native architectures, including public cloud PaaS/IaaS, microservices, and APIs.
  • Flexible in handling changing projects and priorities quickly.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to learn new methods and processes.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of simplifying complex technical concepts into actionable modules.
  • Strong time-management skills, able to handle multiple tasks and work effectively under pressure.
  • Good understanding of business capabilities, user journeys, organizational goals, and desired product outcomes.
  • Knowledge of the current telecommunications and digital services market, as well as emerging business and technology trends.

Must-Have Technical/Professional Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience with agile methodologies such as Scrum, Kanban, XP, LSD, and FDD.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in programming languages such as Visual Basic, C#, C/C++, Python, ASP, PHP, and Java.
  • Experience working in cloud-native environments.
  • Proficiency in developing and consuming APIs.
  • Professional experience and knowledge of the telecommunications industry (preferred).
  • Hands-on experience with RPA tools and cognitive platforms such as UiPath, Blue Prism, or Automation Anywhere, with a strong preference for UiPath expertise.
