Background

To lead and manage a shift production team in Moshi, ensuring safety, quality, efficiency, and output targets are met while effectively managing people and resources on the shift.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise all production activities and operators on a designated shift (e.g., morning, afternoon, night).
  • Ensure production schedules, targets, and quality standards are achieved.
  • Enforce strict compliance with safety rules, GMP, and SOPs by all shift personnel.
  • Allocate tasks, manage breaks, and resolve personnel issues on the shift.
  • Monitor machine performance and coordinate with maintenance for quick resolution of breakdowns.
  • Complete shift production reports, including output, waste, downtime, and manpower attendance.
  • Conduct shift handover meetings, communicating clearly with the next supervisor.
  • Train and coach operators to improve skills and performance.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Diploma or Degree in Food Science, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Business Management.
  • Minimum of 3-4 years of experience in a production environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or team leader role (preferably in shifts).
  • Experience in food processing or FMCG is highly desirable.

Required Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong leadership and decision-making skills under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities.
  • Understanding of production KPIs and lean manufacturing concepts.
  • Ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
