Responsibilities
School Drivers are responsible for the safe and reliable transportation of students, staff, and school materials.
- Safe Driving: Operate school vehicles safely and responsibly, adhering to all traffic laws, speed limits, and school policies at all times.
- Student Transportation: Transport students to and from school, field trips, sporting events, and other school-related activities on scheduled routes and timetables.
- Pre-Trip Inspections: Conduct thorough daily vehicle inspections (brakes, tires, lights, oil, fuel, mirrors, emergency equipment) before each trip, reporting any mechanical issues promptly.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Maintain the cleanliness of the vehicle (interior and exterior) and schedule routine servicing to ensure roadworthiness.
- Passenger Safety: Ensure all students are seated properly, wearing seatbelts, and behaving appropriately during transit. Enforce safety rules and maintain order.
- Assist Students: Help students board and exit the vehicle safely, especially younger children or those with special needs.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of trips, mileage, fuel consumption, maintenance, and any incidents.
- Communication: Report any delays, accidents, or vehicle problems to the school administration immediately.
- Adherence to Schedule: Follow assigned routes and timetables reliably, ensuring punctual pick-ups and drop-offs.
- Security: Ensure the vehicle is locked and secure when not in use.
Qualifications and Requirements
