Background

To lead, motivate, and develop a team of sales representatives to achieve and exceed sales targets within the Dar es Salaam region, ensuring effective territory coverage, customer relationship management, and brand visibility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, coach, and supervise a team of sales representatives.
  • Develop and implement weekly/monthly sales plans and route schedules for the team.
  • Monitor team performance against sales targets (volume, value, collection) and take corrective action.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key distributors, wholesalers, and retailers.
  • Conduct market visits to monitor competitor activity, pricing, and product visibility.
  • Ensure timely submission of sales reports, market intelligence, and expense claims from the team.
  • Organize and lead team meetings and sales briefings.
  • Resolve customer complaints and ensure excellent service delivery.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of field sales experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role (FMCG/CPG background preferred).
  • Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Dar es Salaam market and distribution networks.
  • Valid driver’s license.

  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and sales software/CRM.
  • Resilience and ability to work under pressure.
