Job Description

  • Responsible for the on-site delivery of transportation-related documents, including but not limited to delivering vehicle documents and customs clearance documents to customs brokers or drivers.
  • Liaise with local Tanzanian fleets, depots, port loading/unloading teams, and warehouse managers. Assist in resolving on-site issues such as vehicle entry and cargo loading.
  • Relay temporary instructions from the Fleet Supervisor as needed.
  • Assist the maintenance team in roadside rescue operations in case of vehicle breakdowns or accidents on the road.
  • Coordinate relationships with TRA (Tanzania Revenue Authority) and police when necessary.
  • Verify on-site information such as vehicle condition, cargo loading progress, and customs clearance process milestones. Provide real-time feedback to the Dispatch Supervisor via work groups/phone calls. Photograph and promptly report any abnormalities discovered on-site (e.g., vehicle damage, cargo loss).
  • Perform other field tasks assigned by the company, such as assisting with vehicle annual inspection/insurance related procedures.
  • At least 3 years’ experience of transportation and logistics industry.
  • Knowledge of basic port and customs procedures is a plus.
  • Experience in documentations and transit requirements
  • Age: 20-30 years old, in good health, able to adapt to outdoor work and the local Tanzanian climate.
  • Driving Ability; must possess a valid Tanzanian driver's license. Proficient in driving small vehicles (e.g., pickup trucks, sedans) with skilled driving techniques. Familiar with local Tanzanian traffic rules and road conditions around the main base.
  • Attention to Detail and Precision: Highly sensitive to numbers and text, able to detect subtle errors this is the most critical quality.
  • Proficient Computer Skills: Mastery of Office software, especially Excel and Word.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external parties.
  • Stress Resistance and Multitasking Ability: Capable of handling documents for multiple shipments simultaneously during busy periods without errors.
  • Service Mindset; Maintain a friendly and cooperative attitude towards driver teams and partners.
  • Actively cooperate with internal team needs and provide efficient field support.
  • Must provide work certificate from the previous employer and a certificate of no criminal record.
