To support its guest services operations, Asilia Africa is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Room Steward to join its team in Arusha. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining exceptional cleanliness standards in guest accommodation and public areas while ensuring guests receive attentive, professional service that contributes to a memorable safari experience.

Responsibilities

  • Clean and prepare guest rooms to luxury hospitality standards
  • Make beds, change linens, dust furniture, vacuum floors, and sanitize bathrooms
  • Ensure guest rooms are clean, organized, and ready for occupancy
  • Maintain cleanliness and presentation of lobbies, hallways, restrooms, and other public areas
  • Replenish guest amenities, towels, toiletries, and other room supplies
  • Monitor housekeeping inventory levels and report replenishment needs
  • Inspect rooms and facilities to ensure compliance with quality standards
  • Report maintenance issues, damages, or safety concerns to supervisors promptly
  • Respond to guest requests courteously, efficiently, and professionally
  • Assist in ensuring a comfortable and welcoming environment for all guests
  • Follow established housekeeping procedures and hygiene standards
  • Support sustainability and environmental practices within camp and lodge operations
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when interacting with guests
  • Work closely with housekeeping colleagues and other departments to ensure smooth operations
  • Adhere to health, safety, and hospitality standards at all times
  • Contribute to creating memorable guest experiences through excellent service delivery

Qualifications Required

  • Certificate, Diploma, or relevant training in Hospitality, Housekeeping, Tourism, or a related field is an added advantage
  • Understanding of hospitality industry services and guest care standards
  • Knowledge of hotel, lodge, camp, or restaurant operations
  • Previous experience in housekeeping or guest services is an added advantage
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Excellent attention to detail and cleanliness standards
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and discretion
  • Good communication skills with fluency in spoken English
  • Additional language skills will be an added advantage
  • Ability to adapt and work effectively in a bush or remote camp environment
  • Willingness to be based in remote safari camps and lodges
  • High level of integrity, reliability, and professionalism
  • Applicants should not be more than 30 years of age
