Tanzania Food and Nutrition Centre (TFNC) is the source of the Government’s policy of first phase of dealing with the problem of malnutrition in the country. Following the introduction of the 1967 Arusha Declaration attitude was to strengthen social services, particularly in rural areas. In 1968 former President the late Mwalimu J. K. Nyerere repeated emphasis on the importance of nutrition in the development of people and the nation as a whole. That was a major impetus in the fight against malnutrition in the country. The Ministry of Health has already had a nutrition unit. Ministry of Agriculture and Education have introduced their units’ nutrition. By the year 1969, 27 districts in 16 regions were initiated its units nutrition.

On behalf of the Higher Education Students’ Loans Board (HESLB) and Tanzania Food and Nutrition Centre (TFNC), Public Service Recruitment Secretariat invites qualified Tanzanians to fill 5 vacant posts as mentioned below;-

Research Officer II– Statistics

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• To assist in collecting and processing data related to nutrition
  
• To participate in analyzing data related to nutrition
  
• To participate in designing research tools related to nutrition studies
  
• To participate in producing the Centre’s periodic reports
  
• To assist in compiling centre’s periodic report
  
• To perform any other duties assigned
  

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Holder of an upper second class Honours degree in Statistics from a recognized institution with at least three (3) years of working experience in a reputable organization.

REMUNERATION
Salary Scale: PRSS 2.1

GENERAL CONDITIONS
