Job Summary:

The Staff Nurse is responsible for providing high-quality, patient-centered care. This includes assessing patient needs, planning and implementing care plans, administering medications, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal health outcomes. The nurse acts as a patient advocate and ensures a safe, therapeutic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Clinical Care:

Conduct comprehensive patient assessments (vital signs, history, physical exams). Administer prescribed medications, IV therapy, and treatments. Monitor and record patient progress, updating care plans as necessary.

Treatment:

Assist physicians during examinations, procedures, and surgeries. Prepare patients for operations or procedures. Perform wound care, catheterization, and other clinical nursing duties.

Patient Advocacy:

Act as a liaison between the patient, family, and the medical team. Provide health education regarding disease management, medication, and post-discharge care.

Documentation:

Maintain accurate and timely electronic health records (EHR) and shift reports. Ensure all legal and hospital documentation standards are met.

Safety & Compliance:

Adhere strictly to infection control protocols, medication safety standards, and hospital policies. Participate in emergency response codes.

Teamwork:

Supervise and guide Enrolled Nurses, Nursing Aides, and student nurses.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Education:

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Diploma in Nursing.

Licensure:

Valid nursing license (e.g., NCLEX, State/Country Nursing Board).

Experience:

Minimum 1–2 years of clinical experience (preferred).

Skills:

Strong clinical assessment skills, excellent communication, empathy, ability to work under pressure, and proficiency in EHR systems.
