About the Role:
The primary role of the Quality Control Sampler is to ensure incoming materials, in-process feed and finished products meet required quality and feed-safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sample incoming raw materials, in-process materials and finished products from trucks and production points.
- Inspect incoming and outgoing vehicles for biosecurity, hygiene and evidence of pests, and verify product against receiving/outgoing documentation.
- Conduct visual product checks including smell, texture and colour, together with sieving tests for mash, crumbs, pellets and selected raw materials.
- Carry out NIR/Foss testing for moisture and protein, maize grading and moisture checks, and relevant soya quality tests.
- Analyse post-pelleting samples for moisture and fines and support product quality checks during manufacturing.
- Label, retain and maintain retention samples; complete required registers and quality records accurately.
- Report non-conforming products, contamination risks, defects and other quality concerns promptly and support the manufacturing process.
- Comply with biosecurity, QA SOPs, GHP, GMP, Health & Safety requirements, company policies and applicable statutory requirements.
Qualifications & Experience Required:
- Diploma or Certificate in Agriculture or a recognised quality control certification is essential.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar quality control role; experience in a milling environment is preferred.
- Basic understanding of feed manufacturing and quality/feed-safety management systems.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication and interpersonal skills, with an understanding of product testing and quality control.
- High attention to detail, sound judgement and a strong commitment to food safety and quality.
