Task description
Under the direct supervision of the WLER Project Manager and second level reporting to the Programme Analyst, the International UN University Volunteer – Programme Associate will undertake the following tasks:
1. Assist in providing technical support to the implementation and management of programmes at Local Levels in Tanzania
• Assist in providing inputs to the annual workplan and budget as required
Support coordination, monitoring and implementation of programme activities
• Assist in coordinating calls/request for proposals, including organization of technical review committees, and capacity assessment of partners
• Assist in reviewing and coordination of submission of both financial and narrative reports from the implementing partners
• Assist in training partners on Results Based Management
2. Assist in providing technical inputs to the monitoring and reporting of the programme/ project
• Support in monitoring progress on programme implementation and tracking results
• Assist in providing inputs to quarterly reports, donor reports and other reports on outputs, results and outcomes
3. Contribute to building partnerships, coordination and resource mobilization strategies
• Contribute to providing inputs to resource mobilization strategies, analysis and maintenance of information and databases
• Provide support in coordinating meetings and key programme events, including the preparation of background documents and dissemination of relevant minutes and notes to support follow-up actions
• Assist in coordinating relationships with implementing partners to support the programme implementation, and coordinate needs assessment exercises for partners’ capacity building
4. Provide inputs to advocacy, knowledge building and communication efforts
• Assist in providing technical inputs to the drafting of programme background documents, projects briefs and presentations
• Contribute to coordination, and support the organization of advocacy activities and campaign events, trainings, workshops and knowledge products, including project success stories.
• Support the programme team in provision of inputs to the development of knowledge management products

Skills and experience
- Strong communication skills in English (verbal and written), including commit-ment to continuous learning on how to draft, proofread and edit correspondences and ensure quality of projects written outputs.
- Demonstrated interest and/or experience in supporting implementation of projects activities with ability to set priorities, coordinate and monitor progress to maximize efficiency and quality
- Proven commitment to work in a team-oriented, multi-cultural environment, to perform supportive roles effectively in a constantly changing environment with competing activities and demands, and to effectively serve as a team member.
- Ability to respond and deal effectively with diverse situations which require good judgment, maturity, diplomacy and confidentiality.
- Demonstrate interest in learning how to organize, prioritize, schedule, plan and coordinate projects work and other office activities internally and externally
- Previous experience as a volunteer and/or experience of another culture, (i.e., studies, volunteer work, internship) would be highly desired. Required education: Secondary Education, currently studying towards a degree in social sciences, human rights, gender/women's studies, international development, or a related field is required
