Job Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Procurement Officer to oversee the purchasing and supply of spare parts and related materials for our workshop store. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring timely procurement, maintaining supplier relationships, managing purchase records, and supporting efficient store operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and source quality spare parts, tools, and materials as required by the store and maintenance teams.
- Prepare, review, and process Purchase Orders (POs) in accordance with company procurement procedures.
- Maintain a list of approved suppliers and continuously evaluate supplier performance (pricing, quality, reliability).
- Request quotations, compare prices, and negotiate for the best value.
- Ensure timely delivery of items and follow up with suppliers on order status.
- Verify quality, quantity, and specifications of all received items before handing them to the store.
- Maintain accurate procurement records, receipts, and documentation for audit purposes.
- Work closely with the Spare Storekeeper to monitor stock levels and forecast purchasing needs.
- Ensure compliance with company standards, policies, and operational guidelines.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma or Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- At least 2–3 years of procurement experience, preferably in spare parts, automotive, mechanical, or industrial environments.
- Strong knowledge of spare parts, tools, and maintenance materials is an added advantage.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and vendor management skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict timelines.
- Proficiency in MS Office; knowledge of procurement systems/software is a plus.
