Job description

Umart is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Procurement Associate to manage the sourcing and procurement of FMCG products, pulses, fresh fruits, and vegetables.

Key responsibilities

  • Procure FMCG products, pulses, fresh fruits, and vegetables.
  • Source and onboard reliable suppliers and farmers.
  • Monitor stock levels and initiate timely replenishment.
  • Generate and manage purchase orders (POs).
  • Negotiate pricing, promotions, rebates, and payment terms.
  • Monitor market prices and product availability.
  • Ensure quality standards are maintained for fresh produce and perishable products.
  • Work closely with the warehouse, operations, and category teams.
  • Track supplier performance, lead times, and fill rates.
  • Analyze sales trends and demand patterns.
  • Maintain procurement records and supplier databases.

Education and experience requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Procurement, Supply Chain, Business Administration, Logistics, Agriculture, or a related field.
  • Minimum of two to three years of procurement or buying experience in FMCG, supermarkets, retail chains, fresh produce, or wholesale distribution.
  • Experience sourcing FMCG products, pulses, fruits, and vegetables.
  • Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
  • Good analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
