Job Summary

The Pediatrician is responsible for providing comprehensive medical care to infants, children, and adolescents. The role involves diagnosing and treating childhood illnesses, monitoring growth and development, providing preventive healthcare services, and educating parents and caregivers on child health and wellness.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Care

• Examine, diagnose, and treat pediatric patients with acute and chronic illnesses.
• Prescribe appropriate medications and treatment plans.
• Monitor child growth, development, and immunization schedules.
• Manage pediatric emergencies and coordinate referrals when necessary.

Patient & Family Care

• Educate parents and caregivers on child nutrition, disease prevention, and healthy development.
• Provide counseling on childhood health issues and preventive care.
• Maintain accurate and confidential patient records.

Collaboration & Compliance

• Work closely with nurses and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
• Participate in clinical meetings and quality improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with medical ethics, hospital policies, and regulatory standards.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) or equivalent.
• Master's Degree or specialization in Pediatrics.
• Valid practicing licence from the relevant medical regulatory authority.

Experience

• Minimum of 2 years' post-qualification experience as a Pediatrician.
