Job Purpose:

To operate a motor grader to fine-grade and level surfaces to precise specifications for foundations, roads, platforms, and other areas requiring exact finish levels.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate motor graders to establish final grades, slopes, and drainage contours.
• Read and interpret grade plans, blueprints, and laser/GPS guidance systems.
• Perform delicate blading work to achieve tight tolerance finish levels (e.g., +/- 10mm).
• Maintain haul roads, site access roads, and drainage ditches in good condition.
• Conduct routine equipment checks and minor maintenance.
• Coordinate with surveyors and supervisors to verify grades.
• Maintain the grader's moldboard, cutting edges, and tires.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Significant experience as a Motor Grader Operator, specifically in finish grading.
• Experience with GPS/Grade Control systems is highly desirable.
• Valid operator's license/certificate.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in mining or heavy civil construction.
• Proven track record of working in remote site locations.
• Strong commitment to safety protocols and procedures.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Relevant trade certification, vocational training, or operator licenses.
• Physical fitness and ability to work in challenging outdoor environments.
• Fluency in Kiswahili; working knowledge of English is an advantage.
