Role Profile: Marketing Officer (Short-Term)

Organization: MSI Tanzania (Member of MSI Reproductive Choices)

Location: Dar es Salaam

Department: Social Marketing

Position: 1 Post

Mission: “Your health, Your Choice, Your Future”

Role Purpose

The Marketing Officer will support the Social Marketing Department in increasing the visibility and market penetration of male condoms, emergency contraceptives, and other SRH products. This is a “360-degree” marketing role involving digital management, field activations, and data-driven demand creation.

Key Responsibilities

1. 360° Marketing & Campaign Support

Campaign Design: Implement integrated marketing campaigns across digital, print, and retail platforms.

Collateral Development: Assist in creating posters, flyers, product guides, and point-of-sale materials.

Activations: Coordinate pharmacy outreach, retail promotions, youth engagement events, and workplace sensitization.

2. Social Media & Digital Marketing

Content Management: Plan and publish educational and promotional content across social platforms.

Engagement: Manage inquiries regarding SRH products professionally and sensitively.

Paid Ads: Support targeted digital campaigns for youth, women, and high-prevalence communities.

SEO & Web: Update product pages and monitor web analytics to improve search visibility.

3. Content Creation & Creative Development

Multimedia: Produce high-quality graphics, short videos, and animations using design tools.

Copywriting: Draft persuasive content for blogs, newsletters, and campaign scripts.

4. Market Insights & Partnerships

Research: Conduct competitor analysis and market scans for condom brands and contraceptives.

Feedback Loops: Manage customer surveys and social listening to understand consumer perceptions.

Stakeholders: Identify and manage influencers, youth ambassadors, and community leaders.

5. Data Analysis & Tracking

Reporting: Prepare monthly dashboards tracking digital metrics and field activation performance.

Optimization: Use data insights to improve messaging and channel effectiveness.

Candidate Requirements

Education & Experience

Degree: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Health, or Business Administration.

Experience:1–3 years in digital marketing, content creation, or SRH-related programs.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in Canva, Photoshop, or Illustrator.

Core Competencies

  • Strong understanding of youth-centered communication and SRH demand creation.
  • Experience in social media management and paid advertising.
  • Excellent writing, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Passion for behavior change communication and reproductive health.
