What is Expected of You
As our Premix Blending Manager, you’ll be a crucial force driving the efficient, high-quality production of micronutrient premix that meets the highest food safety and regulatory standards. This isn’t just a job; it’s an opportunity to lead a skilled team, optimize blending operations, and play a vital role in advancing Ethiopia’s mission to improve nutrition and public health through fortified foods. How You’ll Deliver Impact
- 1. Lead all premix blending operations to ensure the safe, efficient, and cost-effective production of high-quality micronutrient premixes that meet production targets and customer requirements.
- 2. Ensure compliance with FSSC 22000, HACCP, fortification standards, regulatory requirements, and all food safety and quality management systems.
- 3. Manage production planning, process control, and execution of approved formulations to optimize productivity, yield, operational efficiency, and product consistency.
- 4. Oversee quality assurance activities, laboratory testing, traceability systems, Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA), and customer, regulatory, and certification audits.
- 5. Manage raw material procurement planning, inventory accuracy, warehouse operations, and supplier coordination to ensure uninterrupted production and material availability.
- 6. Lead preventive maintenance, calibration, asset reliability, utilities management, and the commissioning and validation of new equipment to maximize operational uptime.
- 7. Provide technical leadership in formulation development, product customization, process validation, and commercialization activities while ensuring technical feasibility and regulatory compliance.
- 8. Lead, coach, and develop production, quality, and laboratory teams, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
- 9. Drive continuous improvement initiatives through data analysis, root cause problem-solving, waste reduction, cost optimization, and implementation of best manufacturing practices.
What We Are Looking For
- 1. 10+ years of progressive experience in Food, Nutrition, Ingredients, Pharmaceutical or FMCG Manufacturing, including 5 years in a Manufacturing Leadership position.
- 2. Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Nutrition, Food Technology, Chemical Engineering or related field.
- 3. HACCP and FSSC 22000/ ISO 22000 Internal or Lead Auditor certification preferred.
- 4. Experience leading customer, regulatory and certification audits.
