Position Description
The Barrick Africa Middle East Team is seeking to recruit Maintenance Scheduler to join and grow our team.

Responsibilities
- Ensure team member in the plant adhere to safety regulations and use the correct PPE.
- Report all Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) issues via an incident report.
- Monitor the execution of work of pertaining to critical information that must be recorded for future reference.
- Ensure proper scheduling of planned jobs for carrying out preventive maintenance.
- Ensure all non-compliance are reported to planning section and necessary corrective and preventive action to be taken.
- Adhere to workplace safety policies, regulations and compliances.
- Formulates weekly schedule of estimated jobs and assigns to appropriate section; coordinates with material control on material status.
- Optimize maintenance performance by using best practices maintenance planning and scheduling techniques and Pronto or other maintenance management system.
- Achieve department and organization objectives.
- Report status for shutdown and preventive maintenance to supervisor.
- Review, verify, and follow up all completed work orders.
- Ensure all completed work orders are closed off for historical review.
- Continual improvement initiative and cost control measures.
- Maintaining a clean and environmental safe work area, apply 5S principle.
- Perform any task as instructed by report line supervisor.
- Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
- Proactively identifying and acting on plant performance deviation.
Qualification requirements
- Technical/ Vocational School, Apprenticeship training, on-the-job training (FTC, VETA, IMTT Trade Test or its Equivalent).
- Recognized Practical qualifications.
Experience and Competencies needed
- Minimum experience of two (2) years in maintenance and planning experience
- Experience in a mining environment is highly desirable
- Excellent safety record.
- Practical skills in maintenance practices and engineering knowledge.
