Africab Co. Ltd., a leading player in manufacturing and industrial solutions across East Africa, is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Logistics Controller to join our growing team in Tanzania. This full-time role is central to ensuring the efficiency, accuracy, and reliability of our supply chain processes. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating logistics workflows, managing inventory, optimizing warehouse operations, and overseeing international freight activities to support the company’s operational goals.
The Logistics Controller will play a key role in planning, organizing, and coordinating the movement of goods from suppliers to warehouses and ultimately to customers. This includes supervising warehouse teams, monitoring stock levels, and ensuring materials are stored, handled, and dispatched according to established standards. A strong understanding of inventory control principles and experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) or ERP platforms will be essential. The role requires meticulous documentation management, especially concerning import and export requirements, customs regulations, and shipping compliance.
A major portion of the role involves liaising and negotiating with freight forwarders, carriers, shippers, and third-party logistics (3PL) providers to secure competitive transport rates while maintaining reliability and timely delivery. The Logistics Controller will evaluate logistics service providers, assess transit timelines, and troubleshoot issues related to shipment delays, customs clearance, and routing challenges. Strong communication and coordination skills are critical, as the role involves working closely with internal teams in procurement, production, sales, and finance to align logistics activities with business priorities.
Candidates must also be proficient in analyzing logistics data, tracking key performance indicators (KPIs), and submitting periodic reports that support strategic decision-making.
