Role Summary:

We are looking for a highly motivated and academically driven Law Student to join our Legal Department as a Legal Intern. This is an excellent opportunity to gain practical hands-on experience in [insert specific area, e.g., Corporate Law, Litigation, Intellectual Property, or Compliance]. The intern will work closely with experienced attorneys to conduct legal research, draft documents, and support ongoing cases or corporate transactions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Legal Research: Conduct thorough research on various legal issues, statutes, regulations, and case law using tools such as Westlaw and LexisNexis.
  • Document Drafting: Assist in drafting and reviewing legal documents, including contracts, memoranda, pleadings, discovery requests, and corporate resolutions.
  • Case Support: Organize and manage case files, evidence, and discovery materials. Assist in preparing for depositions, hearings, mediations, and trials.
  • Corporate Governance: Support the legal team with entity management, filing annual reports, and maintaining corporate minute books.
  • Due Diligence: Assist in due diligence processes for mergers, acquisitions, or financing transactions by reviewing data rooms and summarizing findings.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Research and monitor regulatory updates relevant to the industry; assist in drafting compliance checklists and policies.
  • Administrative Support: Provide administrative support to the legal team, including scheduling, formatting briefs, and managing correspondence.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Currently enrolled in an ABA-accredited Juris Doctor (J.D.) program. 1L, 2L, or 3L status accepted.
  • Academic Standing: Top 50% of class preferred; must have excellent legal writing and research grades.

Skills:

  • Strong legal research and writing capabilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Familiarity with legal research platforms (Westlaw, Lexis).

High attention to detail, ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality, proactive attitude, and excellent time management skills
